Forgive Me...NOT!

"When you hold resentment toward anotheryou are bound to that person or condition by an emotional link that is stronger than steel." - Catherine Ponder

I was sitting back thinking about all of the times in my life that I've asked for forgiveness or have been asked to forgive someone. People are always talking about "forgive, but don't forget" or "forgiveness is for you and not the other person". I have mixed feelings about those sayings...

Forgive, but don't forget

I think that this only works when the person doing the forgiving has the ability to leave it ALONE! Don't forgive somebody and then while your "not forgetting", you are not letting THEM forget either. Not forgetting doesn't mean make both of your futures a living hell.

Forgiveness is for you and not the other person

I totally agree that when you forgive, you are setting yourself free. The other person USUALLY is living their life not even thinking about you and you are sitting there all mad, hot, and bothered. HOWEVER, if you are in a situation where you are still trying to have a relationship with that person, whether it's a family member, friend, or romantic interest, the forgiveness IS for the both of you. Your thoughts and emotions going on inside can effect how you act towards others and most people can sense it. The tension will eventually tear yall apart.

I look back on my own relationships in life with friends and family and wonder sometimes if I have truly forgiven people for what they have done or if I have done something to someone, have they truly forgiven me? I am the type of person that if you say you forgive me, I don't like it if I feel like I am still being judged based on "the past". Forgetting to me does not mean you have to act like it never happened and not be careful, it just means you removed the bitterness from your heart and moved on with life looking FORWARD, expecting better things, not anticipating the worst.

Personally, if you are going to continue to make me pay for what I did, then I prefer you remove yourself from my life altogether. I have enough friends and 1 less friend isn't going to cause me to crumble and die. Especially when they are making me better and you are only making me worse.

I don't even see how you could even want to still be my friend if you are still harboring harsh feelings against me! To me that is fake and I don't like fake people. IF I am going to forgive someone, I let the hard feelings go and move forward because I cannot change the past. I don't care how much you love me or how much of your "home-girl" I am...I'd rather you let me go that way we can both FORGET each other.

How do you forgive?

Do you forget?

Are y'all both still paying for it?

Speedy Fingers

Do yall remember Mavis Beacon? That typing program you had to do when you were younger to improve your typing speed? Well I do! I actually used to like that program and enjoyed doing it. It made me think hmmm, how fast do I type NOW? So of course my curiosity got the best of me and I found a few sites to test my typing speed.

I attempted to see what my typing speed was at TypingTest.com and averaged 67wpm which should have been 69, but I didn't correct the 2 errors I made...ugh! Apparently the average is 36 so I did pretty good. I knew I typed fast anyway because people always tell me I do. See my results below.

I also tried speedtest.10fast.fingers.com in which I got a 66 and play.typeracer.com and got a 62. So if you are a "averaging" person, you can say my average typing speed is about 65wpm.

What is your typing speed? Give it a try!

TLC's Extreme Couponing All-Stars Premiere WINNERS!

Warning: Spoiler Ahead!!!

Hope you guys got a chance to watch the new season of TLC's Extreme Couponing All-Stars that came on last night! I did a post yesterday announcing the premiere and gave some detail around what the new season was about. Check it out the post here if you missed it! The new season features previous Extreme Couponing "All-Stars" who go head to head in a 30 minute race to savings! All the groceries purchased during the competition are donated to a local food bank. I personally think this was a great idea and it was exciting to watch. It was kind of like being a cooking lover watching an episode of Ready-Set-Cook that came on back in the day!

Here are the rules:

1. ONLY sale items are allowed to be purchased.

2. Must spend a minimum of $500 retail.

3. 15 unique items at a minimum.

4. 3 Pre-Ordered items allowed per contestant.

5. 1 "partner" is allowed to help prepare (which includes scouting the store                            before-hand and cheer them on!

6. Sales tax is not included in the total paid since each state is different.

The shopper with the highest percentage of savings is deemed the winner. At the end of the season, the 2 shoppers with the highest percent savings will move onto the final round!

Episode 1: Faatima vs. Carla

Funniest Moment: Faatima's husband was yelling through the store "like a maniac" from the front and she started freaking out saying he was getting on her nerves.

Favorite Quote: "We gotta do it for charity and I gotta beat Carla, charity and Carla, charity and Carla..." - Faatima

Carla's Epic Fail: Lost her cart in the store!

Faatima's Epic Fail: Almost forgot 1 of her most important items, Comet Cleaner..one of her pre-orders which is suppose to give her overage to pay for other items on her list!

Once each shopper is done, they must make their way to the register and the clock is stopped. Each shopper, though they can be miles apart, must wait until the other shopper is done shopping before checking out. In the end, Carla was done shopping with 11min and 12 seconds to spare, and Faatima with 8min and 29 seconds.

And the shopper that came out victorious.....

FAATIMA!!!:

Final Stats:

Carla:
Total Retail: $1342.76
Final Cost: $35.04
Percent Savings: 97.4%

Faatima:

Total Retail: $900.43
Final Cost: $.29
Percent Savings: 99.96%

Episode 2: Chris vs. Michelle

Funniest Moment: On more than one occasion, Chris is whistling while going down the aisles as slow as possible and admiring the store displays...just funny to me lol.

Favorite Quote: "I don't think that she'll do that well. I don't feel nervous what-so-ever" - Chris

Chris's Epic Fail: Very miticulous and exact BUT did not realize 5min before his time is to expire that his soda pre-order wasn't brought up to the front of the store.

Michelle's Epic Fail: Left getting her large pre-orders until the end which could have been traumatic if she had ran out of time and they didn't get it to the front on time.

In the end, Chris was done shopping with 1min and 32 seconds to spare, and Michelle with 20 min and 5 seconds.

And the shopper that came out victorious.....

CHRIS!!!:

Final Stats:

Chris:
Total Retail: $1847.93
Final Cost: $0
Percent Savings: 100%

Michelle:

Total Retail: $526.12
Final Cost: $2.57
Percent Savings: 99.6%

Out of both shows, I didn't really have a favorite so did not really care who won, but it was definitely a good competition. Catch the next episode of TLC's Extreme Couponing All-Stars next Tuesday at 10pm where we will get to see Jen vs Joni at 10pm and Judy vs. Antoinette at 10:30pm!

30 Skills Every Woman Should Have Before Turning 30

This morning I decided I wanted to boil an egg for the first time. Sounds strange huh? Well not for me! I hate eggs! So I have had no reason to ever boil one and never cared to do so. Cut me some slack though, I can make a GREAT omelete for someone who doesn't eat eggs!

This then got me to thinking, should everyone know how to boil an egg? That question made me wonder what should every woman know how to do? So I went to handy-dandy Google and VOILA! I found this article  called "30 Skills Every Woman Should Have Before Turning 30" on thefrisky.com. Ironically, the #1 thing on the list was "hard-boil an egg"! Well I can check that off! See the rest of the list below. I have highlighted in bold those things I have mastered already at age 26:

1. Hard-boil an egg
2. Diplomatically tell Mom to butt out

3. Ace a job interview

4. Ask a man out

5. Send a thoughtful thank-you note (I made thoughtful phone calls tho...)
6. Listen to a friend in need
7. Ask for help
8. Effectively end an unhealthy relationship (romantic or platonic in nature)
9. Beautifully wrap a gift
10. Say “no” gracefully
11. Whip up a great dinner with the five items in her fridge
12. Forget pleasing him, by 30 a woman should be able to tell her man exactly how to please her
13. Sew a button
14. Mix a kick-ass cocktail
15. Take off her bra without removing her shirt
16. Apply lip gloss in the dark
17. Balance her checkbook (though I don't do it regularly...)
18. Create a budget
19. Find the best deal
20. Negotiate a salary and/or pay raise
21. Read a map (well enough to make myself un-lost!)
22. Hail a cab
23. Say something in French just for the hell of it (Fermez la bouche Michelle!)
24. Apologize when she’s wrong
25. Dress for her body type
26. Change a flat (or know whom to call to come change it)
27. Spot a fake (handbag, diamond, potential friend …)
28. Feign interest
29. Know what to tip on a $25 dinner bill
30. Hold a baby (Hey, someone you know is bound to have one sooner or later.)

Looks like I have gotten 24 out of 30 out of the way. 6 more to go and I have 4yrs to do it!

Where do you stand?
How many of these have you already knocked out if you are under 30?
If you are 30+...how many things do you have to catch up on?

1-800 CONTACTS "Special Eyes"

"MY BRAND"...LMBO!

The Bots Master - OLD SCHOOL!

I'm Ziv Zulander, ZZ for short
You know I fight the corp,
I'm the Bots Master
Listen up you all, you're the Boyzz brigade
When it's laser time put on the 3D shades
Laser time Boyzz

So I was having one of those random moments again and The Bots Master popped into my head. MAN I MISS THIS SHOW! The cartoon came out in 1993 and took place in 2025 where robots were common and they performed all of the tasks us humans usually would do. This was thanks to Ziv Zulander who was a robotics engineer genius and the RM Corp. The President of RM Corp, LLP, with the assistance of Lady Frenzy and Dr. Hiss turned the robots that ZZ helped create to help man-kind into their own minions and wanted world domination. The "Boyss Brigade" stood for "Brain Operated Young Zygoetopic Zoids" which were ZZ's crew of robots who fought by his side.

I was in love...I mean like IN LOVE with Ziv Zulander...ZZ for short. I was 8yrs old. I know what yall are thinking, how can you be in love with a cartoon, well I was and it is what it is! No judgement please! It was the best picture I could find, but that's Ziv above. Ok... so 18yrs later I will admit, I don't get it lol. He really isn't that good looking, but oh well, I was 8.

I actually sat here on You Tube watching different episodes, enjoying EVERY minute of it! I wish they would run re-runs! It amazed me over the years how many people my age never heard of The Bots Master. I felt  disrespected and couldn't even comprehend how they did not watch it or even hear about it! All I know is that it was one of THE best cartoons and I would watch it all over again if I could. I posted the Intro to The Bots Master below so that you all can experience greatness as I have as a young child. Enjoy while I watch some more episode on You Tube....

TODAY! - All New TLC's Extreme Couponing All-Stars 12/27 @ 10pm

Those of you that know me well, know I LOVE couponing! I consider myself a "Hardcore" couponer, not "Extreme". I don't buy 100 of an item, perhaps 2-5 if it's a really good deal! I also don't spend hundreds of dollars. I think my highest before store sales and coupons amount was $110 and I got it down to about $35. I also have my handy-dandy binder that is the sanctuary for all of the Qs (coupons) I cut.

I JUST found out (late I know) that there will be a new Extreme Couponing All-Stars episode coming on today 12/27/11 at 10pm on TLC! There is also a marathon coming on starting at 1pm and going until 6:30pm. The episode at 10pm is Carla vs. Faatima and the one at 10:30pm is Chris vs. Michelle. This season has a new twist to it and I think it makes it that more exciting!

Two "All-Stars" will be going head-to-head in a race to purchase $500 worth of items in 30 minutes and NOTHING can be full price! The winner will be whoever has the highest percentage of savings. In the end, they will donate their entire haul to a local food bank. Check out this site to see all of the contestants this season!

I know some people criticize the show and call it stupid and unrealistic, and I could not agree more. A lot of times they do WAY too much and stores relax their coupon policy just for the show...stupid. There was actually one woman on there who I thought was the most down to earth shopper and I really felt like I could do what she did.

One thing is to remember is that the appearance on this show marks the FIRST time these people have ever done a shopping trip like that. They are contacted and told to plan the biggest shopping trip ever and save the most money. So this is not something they do every week. If you are really interested, you can go to a few of their personal sites and they will actually tell you this. They also give REAL couponing advice and great tips that I have used to help me save money on my shopping trips. I have listed my favorite sites at the end of the ones that have appeared on the show.

I will admit I only watch this show for entertainment. I know I will not be able to go into any store and do what they have done, especially since I shop at Harris Teeter and they allow 20 coupons PER DAY, PER HOUSEHOLD. People who watch the show and try to go out and buy 100 newspapers and mirror what was done will be met with major disappointment. I myself buy 4 newspapers because I find that is a good number for me and allows me to take advantage of at least 4 of an item that is on a really good sale or even FREE (more if the coupon is for more than 1 like a $.75/2).

Once Harris Teeter had super doubles in which they doubled any coupon up to $1.98 (so a $1.50Q doubled to $3), well I was able to score 6 packs of non-stick Reynolds foil for FREE! Now for those of you who buy foil know that it can run you a good $3-$4 for that kind of foil. Well needless to say, I was able to get 6 (had 3 each of 2 types of foil coupons). I haven't had to buy foil yet and that was months ago. If it is something you use and WILL USE BEFORE IT EXPIRES, it isn't a bad thing to stock up.

Another thing I hate to hear people say is that you cannot get anything healthy by couponing. That is a lie. When I go shopping, EVERYTHING doesn't have a coupon, but best believe 9 times out of 10 everything will be on sale. The key is to shop sales only and when possible, match the sale up with the coupon. I spent $25 once and got ALL healthy items including meat. No I didn't have a coupon for the meat, but I saved so much money on everything else that the meat (which was on sale too OR marked down) was still affordable. So people please hush up. If you work it, it will work!

I am excited to see these "All-Stars" go head to head today and will definitely be back on to chat about the show! Will you be watching?

Here are the links I mentioned above of those "Extreme Couponers" who have appeared on the show that I love and follow myself":

Tai & Tarin - Double Saving Divas

Where My Girls At - 702

Shoot y'all, this was the song back when I was like 14 (everything was a hit when I was 14). I even knew and STILL know the dance they do up on them pillars during the chorus! I didn't think about this before but in the song they say "...he is my, my property..." dag what a message to be telling young girls, but hey, men do it in their songs all the time so who cares!

Kindle Fire!!! Merry Christmas To Me!

Kindle Fire with purple case

Originally when the Kindle first came out I said I did not read enough to want one and didn't care to have one. For Christmas last year I bought my mom a kindle because she really wanted one and she LOVED it! It made me so happy to get something for HER for a change that she really liked since she doesn't ask for much.

I have an ipod touch in which some of you may know you can download the Kindle App and read books on it too. Well I decided to try it out using my mom's account and I actually finished a book in less than a year which was my normal average lol. I think I finished it within a few weeks actually! This got me to thinking that dag maybe if I had a Kindle, I will actually read more!

So not too long ago me and my mom decided to start a book club with each other and started reading The Help together and when she comes to visit THIS week, we are going to have a Book Club meeting and discuss the book! Since we started, I began wanting a Kindle and wanting one BAD! Well, my wish finally came true and my mom and one of my best friends bought me one for Christmas!!! I was so overjoyed and filled with excitement and I still am! Just having it makes me want to read more!

So I decided that this was the perfect opportunity to do my first "Favorite Things" post! I have had it only two days now and it is already one of my favorite things! I am no techie so I can't sit here and explain all the technical features, but decided to share with you all my favorite things about it that I have discovered thus far (besides the fact that I can read books lol)...

1. The colors and screens are so rich! It had a background of pencils when I first cut it on and I felt like they were real pencils and wanted to reach into the screen and grab one to use!

2. With the PRETTY PRETTY purple case I got to go with it, I can prop it up on the table or bed and read it that way! Great if you don't feel like holding it up.

3. I found out you can "rent" movies for like $2 for 48hrs which is the same as renting RedBox $1 a day!

4. I love having apps just like on my Ipod Touch! Both have their advantages depending on where I am and what I am trying to do so I love having the option to use one or the other.

5. People complain because it doesn't have 3G, but I knew that and through research decided I did not care. I am usually where there is WiFi anyway and there is enough to do if you prepare ahead of time by downloading what you want that does NOT require the Internet. Through it's 1-Click feature, it is so easy to order and download paid AND free stuff and I love that as well.

Overall, I am very thankful for getting this for Christmas and am thoroughly enjoying it every minute. I don't have 1 complaint. Do you have a Kindle Fire? What do you enjoy most about it?

Sunday Blog SHOUTOUT - Christmas Debut!

Ok so I decided to start doing a Sunday Blog SHOUTOUT where I will share with you all my favorite posts from the prior week (Sun-Sat) of the blogs I follow. Each week may will present different blogs, different stories, and different emotions. I have also provided the links for each post so that you can check it out for yourself. So here it is:

1. Ooooooo La La Blog - WTF Wednesdays: Teenager Gets Stuck in Chimney
Link http://njlala.blogspot.com/2011/12/wtf-wednesdays-teenager-gets-stuck-in.html

This is my top pick for the week simply because it is so daggon FUNNY! Like how dumb can this kid BE? You can see i commented on the post and said I wouldn't even punish the kid because the embarrassment of it all would be enough for me LOL.

2. BmorelikeCam - Finding Joy in the Pain of Starting Something NEW
Link: http://bmorelikecam.blogspot.com/2011/12/finding-joy-in-pain-of-starting.html

This is my top pick for the week not because it was his first post, but because I thought the message was awesome! There are so many people who are complacent in where they are in life and are afraid to step out of their comfort zone. A lot of times you are stuck in the life you don't want or like because you aren't taking steps to do something new.

3. emuneee The Verizon Galaxy Nexus Life [Review]
Link:  http://emuneee.com/2011/12/the-verizon-galaxy-nexus-life-review/

So I was done with the first two and was ready to post, but a recent post today (Saturday) caught my eye and I had to add it to the list. I personally am picky person when it comes to choosing a new phone and will hold on to a crappy phone until I find one I am 111% sure I want. Therefore, I felt this was an awesome post this week! It's rare you get such a detailed review on a phone and from someone you actually know which for ME makes it more credible.

Hope you enjoyed this first Sunday Blog SHOUTOUT and please let me know if this is something you guys like and would like to see more of!

That's What Little Girls Are Made Of - Raven Simone

HA! She was so daggon ca-ute! Talkin bout Dr. Seuss lol. So much spunk to be so young too. And WHY is she driving a car????? Anywho, random thought so felt I needed to post immediately!

Couldn't Pay Me To Do That!

Have y'all ever watched that show Dirty Jobs? Where this guy goes and does the most dirtiest jobs with the actual people who do it every day. He has done things like Roadkill collector, Worm Dung Farmer, Garbage Collector, Lightening Rod Installers, and many MANY more.

This got me to thinking about all of these jobs out there that are just nasty to me and you couldn't pay me to do it! If I had ANY say in what I would do in life, cleaning toilets isn't one of them. I have a pretty strong stomach I think and I promise it wouldn't be strong for long!

I was thinking the other day isn't it funny how some of these jobs are considered such "low" jobs and those who do them are looked down upon? The point is SOMEONE has to do it and going back into slavery days, there are people who wouldn't know what to do with themselves if all of "the help" just up and disappeared. The sad part is, these are the most undesired jobs, but yet they pay SO low and these people aren't compensated for the risks they take and mess they deal with that WE run from. Imagine a world with no janitors, housekeepers, roadkill collectors, and sewage cleaners? That would one nasty place to live. I know I don't want to be bobbin' and weavin' around deer and raccoons or using the toilets and tubs in the hotel rooms I stay at so very often!

I found this video below called "Why won't unemployed Americans take low-pay dirty jobs" from Fox News. They were talking about how it used to be considered shameful not to work and people would take any job they could find. They said how we have become spoiled especially with the cracking down of illegal immigrants in some areas and employers are actually having a hard time finding people to take these lower-paying and "dirty" jobs...even unemployed people! I agree that we have become WAY too picky if we would rather not have a job than work in an undesired position. Take a look see...

There are however some high-paying dirty jobs (these are averages and geography sensitive):
1. Garbage Collectors - $43-60k (depending on overtime pay)
2. Portable Toilet Cleaner - $50k
3. Sewer Inspector - $60k
4. Plumbers - $47

I am sure not everyone in those occupations get paid that much, but the fact that it is a possibility is good. Especially because I feel like each and every one of those jobs are important. Just because its undesired doesn't mean we don't NEED them!

I know me personally look down on no one for what they do and treat everyone with respect because most of us know that we'd be screwed all the way down to Hell if all of a sudden we were forced into those roles.

Gangsta's Paradise - Coolio

Y'all remember this?! I used to love this song. The movie was really good too. As a matter of fact I think I may try and find it on Netflix and watch it this weekend!

Feminist Movement - Woman to Man

Feminist Movement - Woman to Man

Anything you can do, watch me,
I can do it too
I am definitely not inferior to you

You talk about "its a mans job" and
all that other stuff
Well I'm here to tell you that
I've had enough

No more "step aside" or "let me do it"
cuz trust me, the next time I'll beat you to it

I have a spirit, and I have a voice
and I know how to make my own choice

about whats too hard for me to do
and whether or not I need you

If I have the ability and I have the skill
I will do it at my own will

I don't have the patience and I don't have the time
to sit back and listen to you whine

Such an abrupt ending! Wonder if I meant to end it or just never finished it. Now I can see I was always an independent strong willed woman even at a young age lol.

Thanks for reading!

*Memoirs of Little B*

Free As A Bird - By "B"

I was thinking about all of the funny (and not so funny) stories I have about my childhood and realized that I don't have to wait until I have kids of my own to tell them! I created this category "Memoirs of Little B" to serve as a collection of all my memories, stories, favorite things, and works of art.

For my 1st piece of me, I am going to share a poem I wrote when I was about 14. A lot of my poem and story writing days were around this time. It is called "Free As A Bird". Now please don't ask me why I was even thinking about this at that age, because I do not know lol. I used to be a writer/painter/singer back in my youth...very talented lol. Also, I am typing it exactly how it is written on the piece of paper I found lol.

Free As A Bird

Free as a bird
Yeah, whatever, never
No one is free
As a bird
To fly away forever
A bird is not free
from the world
Predators and weather
As long as there's others
Others like you and me
Others like animals
Others like nature
A bird is not free
Free from dangerous animals
cold weather, and weapons
So when you hear that expression
"FREE AS A BIRD"
Think again, and again
and remember what you've been told

LOL! Omg I could barely type this without busting out laughing! Profound wasn't it? I wonder what I was going through or what was on my mind to think to write something like this.

Hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I did typing it lol. Stay tuned for more of
Memoirs of Little B!

"Target Lady" Commericals

Honestly, I could not pick just one of these Target Lady commercials, they are all funny! However, I was able to narrow it down to the top 4 ones that make me LMBO! So here they are:

1. "Chorus"

2. "4 AM"

3. "First"

4. "Reverse Psychology"

Tempted to Touch - Rupee

Who doesn't love this song? Definitely a song that I used to love to hear at parties back in the day and wouldn't mind hearing as a throw back at a party.

Friday - Rebecca Black

Ok so I feel really bad for putting this girl out there, but I have to admit this is funny. Honestly I don't think it's all that bad and she just needs to work on the tone of the way she says certain things and work on the lyrics a little bit. What makes it funny to ME is some of the lyrics, not that she can't sing or anything because she sound better than some people I have heard over the years.

Apparently her parents paid for this, about $4000 I think. I don't know if that was the total or partial cost though. Sad part is she dropped out of school because she was being bullied and is now being home-schooled. People were mocking her when she walks by saying "Friday Friday Friday" or "Oh hey, Rebecca, guess what day it is?" (I will admit I busted out laughing on that one.)

Funny thing is, Justin Bieber's "Baby" song was criticized as being the most disliked YouTube video back when it first aired and look at him. She may be a joke now, but let's see who selling out concerts in 6 months. News stories say plenty of celebs like Jessica Alba and Christina Aguilera were teased in school as well, but who cares, they are top dogs now.

Apparently she made another song called "My Moment" (see below) which talks about her bullying so I am glad this hasn't crushed her spirit. I actually like this one. I am not going to go out and buy the cd, but I think kids in her age group or younger would. She is no different than Victoria or Selina Gomez in my opinion. My favorite part in "My Moment" actually is when she says "Hope that you are happy cuz I'm about to blow up". She is speaking what she wants and going for it. I think she has potential.

My Moment:

What do you think?

"Weird" Isn't It?

So this will be a short one, but had to be done. Yesterday I went to type the word "weird" and was like ok "w-i-e-r-d", but spell check told me I was wrong. Soooo what is the point of the whole "i before e, except after c, but sometimes....blah blah"? I just don't get why we make up these rules and then have so many exceptions to the rule. We got words like society, concierge, foreign...and the list goes on. These words are not implementing the "i before e, except after c" rule at all. Basically the message here is just learn how to spell the daggon words you use in life and you won't have a problem!

I will admit however that it makes sense to be spelled "weird" the way it is spelled. It actually sounds the way it is spelled... "we-ird"...right?

I dunno.
