Incorrect Measurement On Stampin' Up Envelope Punch Board

INCORRECT MEASUREMENT ON THE ENVELOPE PUNCH BOARD

October 12, 2013

"We have noticed that one of the envelope measurements on the Envelope Punch Board is incorrect. The dimensions for the 5-1/2" x 8" card size envelope are 1/4" too small. The correct envelope measurement for this card size is: 10-5/8" x 10-5/8" (paper size); 4-3/8" (score line). The Envelope Punch Board still functions perfectly and we have corrected the measurement chart on the punch board. New labels are available through Demonstrator Support, if you would like one.

Special reminder for Stampin' Up! cards: These envelope measurements are meant for simple cards, without a lot of dimension. At Stampin' Up! we love adding dimension to our cards, but that can make the envelope a bit snug. So, if you need an envelope to fit your cards with lots of flair, go up an envelope size (or two) for the perfect fit. "

If you ordered one from a demonstrator, you will need to contact them in order to get the corrected label. I will be ordering a corrected one for myself and anyone who ordered one through me. If you do not have a demonstrator I will be happy to order one for you if you contact me through this website here.

Stampin' Up! 2013-2014 Color Charts!

Stampin' Up! 2013-2014 Color Charts!

[UPDATE: Head over to my updated post here to get the newest color charts and sign up for all future color charts!]

So I searched and could NOT find a color chart for the new SU! 2013-2014 colors that had the attributes that I wanted (cardstock, marker, and inkpad areas). So as usual, I just created my own! Given CASE is our motto, I added a link below for everyone to download and use for themselves. It currently includes BLANK spots for the new 2013-2014 colors, but I also included the 11-13, 12-14, and 13-15 In-Color sets since that is as far back as I have AND I included boxes for other types of paper I have. It is really easy to make your own if you just know how to use Word and create tables. I am happy to tell you exactly what to do to make your own if you leave me a note below.

Below is my completed one using the 3/4" circle punch for the cardstock and 1 stamp from the retired Button, Button stamp set for my Ink Pad spots, and of course the markers for the marker scribble. ENJOY!

Stampin' Up! Online Classes!

SU! Online Classes for Download

I am still a demonstrator newbie and I am still learning, but did you guys know SU! offered online classes?! I sure didn't until today! For what you get, they seem like a great value. I can personally speak to "The Basics" class as I purchased that one myself just so I could see what it was about. It was good, I took away a few new techniques that I am definitely going to use on some cards in the future. I REALLY recommend it for anyone who is just starting and wants some how-to guides and videos on how to make certain types of cards. With all of the possibilities, the ideas are endless. Each class comes with supply lists as well so you can get what you need, if you do not already have it, and watch it when you are ready. Since the pdfs and videos are on your computer, you also don't need to always have Internet to watch them. Click on each picture to check out more information on the class.

SU Butterfly Bats!

SU Butterfly Bats!

I don't celebrate Halloween, but I thought it was a cute idea anyway! So smart. They used the Bitty Butterfly punch and then the small circle punch and punched off the wings to make them look like bats! Click the picture or click here to check out the original post.

Stampin' Up! NEW Envelop Punch Board

Stampin' Up! NEW Envelop Punch Board

Ok so I know most people are thinking they do not need another tool to keep up with, but I beg to differ with this one! Stampin' Up! has a new tool called the Envelop Punch Board and it is A-Mazing! Not only can you make your own envelopes, you can make them in 66 sizes! Watch the Stampin' Up! video below that not only shows off the product, but shows you how to use it and it's VERY easy:

Not only can you make envelopes, but you can use it as a corner rounder (see how I used it here).

I have been playing around with it and trying out different things and below are a couple of my test products.

Homemade Coasters

Homemade Coasters

What you see here is an empty cup of what WAS yummy Sweet Tea from a local pizza shop. Lol, no actually, what I am showing you is UNDER the empty cup! It is my homemade coaster. This one I made for my balcony mini-table so I only made one. I decided to try making coasters with Stampin' Up Designer Series Paper (DSP). I have done this before using paint and regular solid color paper, but never with Stampin' Up paper!

All you need is the following:

Tools & Techniques - My "Punch Pal"

My Punch Pal

Welcome to my first "Tools & Techniques" post! This is where I will share well...tools and techniques I use with Stampin' Up!

Ok there is no such thing (I don't think), as a Stampin' Up! Punch Pal, this is something I made up from ideas I found on various websites.

I know personally it is annoying when you want to pick a stamp and/or punch, but don't know if your image will fit! Or if you want to punch a space in a part of your card to see if an image will show through it, or what part would show! Well that is where this comes in handy and here it is...

Officially Stampin' Up!

I'm Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!

As of May 25, 2013 I am officially a Stampin' Up Demonstrator! I am excited! There are many reasons people sign up to be a demonstrator; discounts and special offers on great products, to build a business off something they love to do, or simply to be able to create, share, and teach. My personal reasons are for the discounts and to create, share, and teach, but that isn't to say it can't become a business one day!

For those of you who do not know what Stampin' Up! is:

"Stampin’ Up! is a direct-selling company that offers rubber stamps and paper crafting products through a network of independent contractors called demonstrators. In the last 19 years, Stampin’ Up! has become one of the top companies in the paper-crafting industry, developing a reputation for quality products, innovative techniques, and unparalleled support for its demonstrators (for more information on Stampin’ Up!’s history, please click here)." Check out the site here.

Mojo Monday 4/8/13

Mojo Monday 4/8/13

YES! It is only Tuesday and I finished my Mojo Monday card! I will admit, it is for a reason. Not because I stopped procrastinating lol. I am going out of town this weekend and will not be able to wait until Sunday to do it sooooo I decided to get it over with. I really like the colors used and I just pulled some of the colors out of the paper itself and matched it with the Stampin' Up cardstock I had.

Stampin' Up Color Combinations

Colors-Block

Being creative comes easy to me, but sometimes the hardest part when crafting is picking out colors! I myself like to use Stampin' Up Card stock so when I am picking colors, that is what I refer to. Even when I am using scrap-booking paper that is not SU, I write on a piece of paper what SU colors I think go with it. Like this:

Even if I cannot match every color, one or two is enough. Just takes the patience to pull out different pieces and see what looks good and what doesn't. You can see the ones above are totally different. One is a more subtle card, while the other would probably make a pretty bold and exciting card.

I see all of these challenges online that help come up with color combinations. Then you have the "color combo generators", and then if scrap-booking is your thing, you can use your picture to aid in picking colors. I decided to find some of my own combinations and store them away somewhere easy to find AND where I could share them with others...on Pinterest!

Check it Out here on my Pinterest "Stampin' Up Color-Spirations" board!

I just looked around for pictures on different types of sites like Better Homes, Walmart, and National Geographic and if I liked a picture (the colors in it together), I just called out what colors the picture made me think of. Sometimes it isn't an exact match but who cares, the point is to get inspiration and I got it! I hope some of you find it helpful, I think I am going to use one of my pins for this week's Mojo Monday card!

Happy Crafting!

Mojo Monday/Paper Playtime 4/1/13

Mojo Monday/Paper Playtime Entry

This week I made a card to satisfy TWO challenges, the Mojo Monday sketch AND Paper Playtime's "Use a Pun". Mojo Monday challenges always end on Sunday night, but this Paper Playtime challenge actually ends on April 14th. More excitingly...it's contest week on Mojo Monday! I will win one day, but until I do, I will keep playing!

Mojo Monday 3/11/13

Mojo Monday - Happy Birthday...AGAIN!

I am getting better. This time I did the Mojo Monday post on Tuesday! One week I am actually going to do it on Monday. This week I did another birthday card, but that is because I actually did it for my mom to give to a coworker for her birthday. She said their birthday was the day before Spring and that the woman was excited about that so I thought why not add a little Spring into the card!

Here is the 3/11/13 Sketch...

Mojo Monday 3/4/13

Mojo Monday - Happy Birthday

So I decided to try my first Mojo Monday...although it is Sunday. The deadline for submission is tonight at 10pm so I have time. The point is that every Monday they release a "sketch" and you use it as inspiration to make your own card. Check out the site here.

Crafty Me - Welcome Little One

New Baby Boy Card

Ok so I have improved my card making skills A LOT since my first post when I first started "Stampin' Up". One of my coworkers asked me to make a card for her to give to someone (I forget who) that is having a baby boy. Here is what i came up with!

This is called a "Slider" Card and I got the idea from a YouTube video. I put the link on my Pinterest page. Check it out here.

The top is the card closed and the bottom is the card when you slide it out (using the ribbon) to the right and reveal the rattles.

I think it's cute! Wish I had more supplies to make this kind of stuff, but I think I did pretty good with what I had and thanks to another coworker who let me use her stamps!

Let me know what you think!

I'm Stampin' Up!!!

HELLO WORLD!!!

So I have picked up another hobby...CARD MAKING! I have my co-worker to thank because she invited me to a Stampin' Up card club and I was hooked instantaneously! Bought $120 worth of supplies to get started on my FIRST night!

How it works is you find a Demonstrator and either go to their house or you can host at your house. Mine comes up with the ideas for 3 cards and we just made them using her instruction. We pay $12 and get 6 cards (2 of each) and the envelops to go with them. If you order while there, she even gives you half off of the club price so it's only $6!

We have card club this Friday night and I am super excited to see what she is going to have us do! I love these clubs because you get to try out tools and techniques and see if you like it. I used a few tools last time that I added to my Wish List and I plan to purchase SOON! I love using my imagination so this is wonderful because others get to share in my creativity. You can also make other things, not just cards, but I am just getting my feet wet!

Here are some I have done on my own just to practice and see what I can do! Sorry if it's a little blurry....

I will also be adding my crafts here on Pinterest

You can check the Stampin' Up website out here and get started yourself!
