May Card Club...2014 - 2016 In-Colors!

May Card Club...2014 - 2016 In-Colors!

I hosted my LAST Card Club here Friday night (tears) so wanted to end with a preview of the new colors for the ladies. Each card we made featured one or more of the new colors. I also featured one of the new stamp sets Work of Art which by the way I didn't think I would like and now that I have used it...LOOOOOVE IT (say it like they do on Dragon Tales if you know what I am talking about...)! I also got some of the new DSP in there as well which I also love and will be posting a few projects I made using it over the next few weeks. Although it was my last Card Club here, I hope to get a new group of ladies to share my ideas with in my new town! The ladies also love decorating the inside (I do too) so I posted a picture showing the inside as well. I usually do not post dimensions, but if anyone really wants them just shoot me a message.

Ok so enough "talking" and onto the four cards I made and their ingredients...

Ingredients:

Paper:
- Very Vanilla Cardstock
- Mossy Meadow Cardstock (NEW 14-16 In-Color)
- Soft Suede Cardstock

Ink:
- Mossy Meadow Ink Pad
- Soft Suede Ink Pad

Stamp Sets:
Teeny Tiny Wishes
Six-Sided Sampler

Punches/Dies/Edgelits/Etc.:

- Hexagon Punch

Other:
- Square Lattice Embossing Folder
- Neutrals Candy Dots

The perhaps not-so-obvious...
- The Soft Suede piece is embossed using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.
- The WW piece is popped up on dimensionals on top of the Soft Suede piece which is glued to the Mossy Meadow piece.
- The two punched out Hexagons were stamped on first with the Six-Sided Sampler Punch in Mossy Meadow then popped up on dimensionals.

*I also got the idea for this card on Pinterest from Jill Hilliard here though I changed a few things around.

Ingredients:

Paper:
- Whisper White Cardstock
- Blackberry Bliss Cardstock (NEW 14-16 In-Color)
- Hello Honey Cardstock (NEW 14-16 In-Color)
- Moonlight DSP Stack

Ink:
- Blackberry Bliss Ink Pad
- Hello Honey Ink Pad

Stamp Sets:
Blooming with Kindness
- Daydream Medallions

Punches/Dies/Edgelits/Etc.:

- Floral Framelits

Other:
- Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder
- SU! Window Sheets
- Whisper White Organza Ribbon
- Basic Pearl Jewels
- Envelope Punch Board

The perhaps not-so-obvious...
- Each floral piece cut out with the framelits is popped up on dimensionals on the piece below  it.
- The Hello Honey piece is what is embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.
- The sentiment is stamped on the bottom of the Whisper White piece and then the Hello Honey piece was placed at the top, followed by the DSP directly under it.
- The Window Sheet is cut to fit perfectly over the Whisper White piece at the bottom.
-Where the Window Sheet, HH piece, and DSP meet is where I decided to place the ribbon so that the seem is covered up. The ribbon is wrapped around the WW piece which is on dimensionals.

Ingredients:

Paper:
- Whisper White Cardstock
- Lost Lagoon Cardstock (NEW 14-16 In-Color)
- Pool Party Cardstock
- Moonlight DSP Stack

Ink:
- Lost Lagoon Ink Pad

Stamp Sets:
Work of Art

Other:
- Early Espresso Bakers Twine

The perhaps not-so-obvious...
- I stamped the Work of Art stamp in Lost Lagoon 3 times without re-inking to get the 3 different colors (1st stamp at the top and then 2 more times overlapping just a little each time).
- The Whisper White piece is popped on with dimensionals on the Lost Lagoon piece which is then popped up on dimenstionals on the Pool Party piece.
- The Bakers twine is tied on top of the DSP in a knot around the Whisper White piece only and glued down in the back to hold it in place.

Ingredients:

Paper:
- Whisper White Cardstock
- Tangelo Twist Cardstock (NEW 14-16 In-Color)
- Island Indigo Cardstock

Ink:
-Tangelo Twist Ink Pad
- Island Indigo Ink Pad

Stamp Sets:
Work of Art

Other:
- SU! Basic Rhinestones
- Envelope Punch Board

The perhaps not-so-obvious...
- I stamped the Work of Art stamp in Tangelo Twist 3 times without re-inking to get the 3 different colors (1st stamp at the top and then 2 more times)...same thing done for the heart, but just twice.
- The Whisper White and Tangelo Twist paper are glued together and popped up on dimensionals on the Island Indigo.
- The Envelope Punch Board is what I used to round the corners of the WW and TT piece.

I have to say my fav is Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey, and after making these cards, Lost Lagoon is slowly creeping up there with me. I like Mossy Meadow because it's richer than the darker greens we have now. Tangelo Twist...I can do without really. I don't know why, but it doesn't grab me and doesn't seem to go well with many of our other colors. I am curious to see what people do with it in combinations. Hope you all enjoyed!

  1. Hi Brittany, I have been tracking down a great set of Color Charts that I found, but they are dated 2013-2014. My tracking took me to you and your website here (which is great, by the way). Have you updated the Color Charts to include Cajun Craze, Blushing Bride, and other colors that are now part of our color families? I would love to have the download for that if you have. I have looked at other Color Charts, but the one you created is the best of them all, I think. If you haven't updated it, can you tell me how you created it and I'll give a try at it. Thanks much, CeCi Smith
